Pattern for Mrs. Weasley's bell sleeve sweater?
I think it was in the first movie where Mrs. Weasley was wearing a bell sleeve, looked crocheted not knitted, rainbow colored sweater under an apron. The scene was in that tall house in the country after the car settled down and the dishes are in the sink washing themselves and everyone is getting ready for breakfast, I think that is the scene.

I'd like to know if anyone has a pattern and yarn suggestions for this? I am totally in love with that sweater.

I know there's a pattern for it in Charmed Knits. If you're on ravelry you could try searching there. I don't know if a free pattern exists or not.

There are multiple free patterns out there. Five minutes on Google should get plenty of results.

Thanks for your reply. What is Charmed Knits? Ravelry? Sorry, I am new to all of this.

Charmed Knits is a book of HP inspired knitting patterns , movie based (house scarves, Weasley sweaters, etc.) and made up (common room hat, house elf hats, Mrs. Weasley's clocxk afghan, lots of stuff). A lot of the movie based patterns can be found for free online but it's still fun to have the book. It's by Alison Hansel. Ravelry is a website for knitters and crocheters where you can track your projects, stash, library, search for patterns (free and otherwise) and it has groups and forums and lots of fun stuff. I put off joining for a while but I finally did and I love it. :-) It's just ravelry.com. You need to request an invite through the site but it doesn't take long and it's really fun imo.

it's in Charmed Knits, which you can probably get from your local library. and the tall house is the Burrow.

There's a wonderful pattern that I have made quite a few (almost 30 of them) from that's reasonably priced at http://www.crochetcabin.bravehost.com/ This is the most movie accurate pattern I found.

Here's photos on here of ones I made http://gallery.the-leaky-cauldron.org/album/1043 The ones labeled Dragonsinger

WOW, your sweaters are awesome :-) Really really good. But, I am remembering that her's had roses or something? Like one of those crochet patterns with the shells or something, I dunno I don't have the movie so I can't check.

What yarn did you use? I really like that color combo in the second picture on the first page.

Do you have a pattern for that I could get from you? Did you make the body too or just sewed onto a bought sweater base?

This is crochet or knit? I can crochet but haven't learned any knitting stitches yet and I can read crochet patterns. The only problem is when I stop and then start again my tension and mood is different so the stitches are also :-) Very strange :-)

Please let me know about a pattern or yarn colors.

Yeah, just wanted to post again saying that I did read your post and I did click on that link. Don't know why I asked you for the pattern :-) I think I should eat something :-)

Beautiful sweaters. Just from curiosity, but how much would you charge to make one? I'd like one with a black body. I think I could do the sleeves but not so sure about the body part :-) Do you think the sleeves could be stitched by themselves and then sewn on a bought sweater?

Thanks again for your reply

I usually don't charge, just have done trades... but if you can do the sleeve, you can do the body. Body is done in 3 panels.. back left right and is all double crochet!

The sleeves might be able to be stitched into anther sweater but I'm so used to making it this way I couldn't say for sure :D

as much as people love charmed knits, i say look elsewhere for molly's bell sleeve crocheted sweater. the one in charmed knits is by far not the nicest i have seen and bears little resemblance to the one in the film.
in addition the poster above me (whose pics are lovely btw), someone else recently made and posted pics of their take on the sweater and it was really nice. so if you do a search here you should find it. it's also available via ravelry too.

good luck :)

Mrs Weasley sweater
I know you can find the sweater pattern in Charmed Knits: Projects for fans of Harry Potter. You can get it on amazon for $10.19 right now. There's a lot of other patterns in there, too.
